1. Just so you know, I threw it out!
2. Remember, it's October 4th! (wink, wink!)
3. My husband bought me tickets to a Casting Crowns concert. The tickets were tucked into a chocolate bar. Rather they were tucked into the wrapper. Isn't he great!?!

Three Things Thursday
Three places I have lived:1.) I was born in Coos Bay, Oregon but I was raised in the beautiful Willamette Valley. I miss it very much and I would love to move back there if God wills it!
2.) When I was 19 years old I moved to Boise, Idaho to attend Boise Bible College. I haven't ventured far from the Boise area since college except for about 3 months when...
3.) I moved to Northport, New York at the age of 21 to be a nanny. I despised the job. I guess it was the situation I really despised. I was also extremely homesick. I only lasted 3 months then I returned to Idaho!
Thanks, Shelia, for the location theme this month!

Three Things Thursday
More on the March food theme...
Strangest things I've ever eaten:
1.) Squid soup (in Taiwan, I didn't like it)
2.) Raw beef paté (in Belgium, I didn't know what I was eating. Ew!)
3.) Sushi Lover's Pizza (Hong Kong Pizza Hut) Okay, I didn't eat it, but it was on the menu!

Three Things Thursday
I haven't remembered to participate in a while but since this month is a food theme, I'm back!
Foods IHate Dislike a Great Deal~
1.) Beets. Ugh!
2.) I've already read Shelia's and I can't get this one out of my mind so I am copying it: Corned Beef and Cabbage. This may be the worst stuff I've ever tasted.
I really like food. I'm having trouble coming up with a third one. I'll probably think of a bunch after I publish this post!
3.) Ahh... Swiss Cheese. Can't stand it.

Three Things Thursday
It's been so long since I played, but I couldn't resist the book theme. So here I am again.
Books I could read over and over:
1.) The Time Quartet by Madeline L'Engle
2.) The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
3.) Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson (weird, I know!)
Books I could read over and over:
1.) The Time Quartet by Madeline L'Engle
- A Wrinkle in Time
- A Wind in the Door
- A Swiftly Tilting Planet
- Many Waters (this one MAY be my favorite, I can't decide!)
2.) The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
3.) Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson (weird, I know!)

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol.2 No.10
1.) I'd rather wash dishes than fold laundry.
2.) I'd rather clean a toilet than clean the floor.
3.) I'd rather vacuum than sweep
Bonus:
4.) I'd rather 'work' on the computer than any of the above.

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 9
Three things I said I'd never do:
1) Get married.
2) Have children.
3) Be a teacher.
I've done (or am doing) them all. I wouldn't change a thing except the resistant attitude I had when I made those resolutions. I'm glad God has given me what He knew was best for me instead of what I thought was best. I wish I'd remember to trust him now like I say I should have when I was younger! (follow that?)

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 8
Things I do to cheer myself up:
1) Talk on the phone to my mom or sisters. That usually provides me the balance I'm lacking at that particular moment.
2) Take a nap. If I'm feeling really low, chances are I'm short on sleep so a nap truly works wonders.
3) Häagen-Dazs - Chocolate & Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Bars. Oh yeah. (I think I need cheering up tonight during Survivor!)

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 7
1.) I'm finding that I really miss the way church "used to be". I'm missing the good old hymns (I never was tired of them in the first place) and I'm increasingly disenchanted with the newer, fluffy songs. It's true that there are some really, really good new songs and some fluffy old ones, but by and large I'd like to go back to the old music or at least a good mix of the old and new.
3.) I kind of like church shopping as it gives me a chance to meet new people and renew acquaintences with old friends.
2.) I dislike church shopping because of the disconnectedness that accompanies it."Make new friends but keep the old.
One is silver and the other gold."
3.) I kind of like church shopping as it gives me a chance to meet new people and renew acquaintences with old friends.

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 6
1.) Tomorrow, JellyBean and I will fly to Oregon to visit my family for (parts of) 5 days. It will (almost) seem like no kids at all, just having JellyBean. I don't have to prepare meals for her (she's still nursing exclusively), she doesn't get into arguments with anyone, she doesn't accidently wet on the floor, etc. I'm looking forward to this!
2.) The last time I took a vacation like this was 5 years ago when I went to Belgium for 3 weeks (!) to be with Jaymarie when she had Zoë. Jim took the time off work and stayed home with our, then, two kids ages 2 & 4 (almost (3 &5). He's taking care of the three kids this time too.
3.) I worry a little bit about having some kind of accident and leaving the other three kids motherless. Other than that, I don't feel too selfish about taking this trip!

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol.2 No. 5
1.) When I'm eating popcorn, I have to distribute the kernels evenly in my mouth. If I get three kernels on one side of my mouth, the next three kernels must go on the opposite side.
2.) I must know when I'm taking the last bite of my food. I hate it when I don't know that I've eaten the last M&M, last bite of cookie, pizza, pasta, whatever.
3.) I love cold pizza. Straight from the fridge. It's great!

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol.2 No. 4
My Mom taught me:1.) To love line-dried towels
2.) The joy and fun of doing things for other people
3.) To memorize scripture
oh, but there's more... so here's a bonus three:
4.) To love the ocean
5.) That there's more than one side to the story
6.) The enjoyment of a well done task
I love you, Mom, Happy Mother's Day!!!

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 2
1.) I'm so antsy I'm going crazy. I'm ready for a trip to Eugene, OR but I don't think I could take the drive yet. On my own with four kids. I did it before with three kids (one of them 3 weeks old) but JellyBean is so fussy that I can't imagine doing it right now. Actually, I can imagine it...that's what prevents me from going!!
2.) I'm equally antsy to move to the Eugene area permanently. I've been wanting to move back for about 7 years now and there just doesn't seem to be a way. Waiting for God to provide a way and also wondering if it's time to give up on that desire. Maybe God just wants me to stay here. He'd have to do some work to help me be happy with that outcome!
3.) Today is my mom's birthday. I miss her. Wish I were in Eugene... I'd take her out to dinner.

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 2 No. 1
Three Things From Three Years Ago...
1.) I didn't know it, but I was in the final month of three years of trying to get pregnant. I got pregnant around the middle of March and didn't know it until I had a positive pregnancy test on April 1st. That test was hard to believe since we had been trying for 3 years. Oh, and it was April Fool's Day!!! I ended up taking 4 more tests!!
2.) My oldest daughter and I were in the middle of first grade (homeschooling) and when I would ask her questions from her lessons, I would hear the answers coming down the hall from my 4-year old son's bedroom! Cracked me up!
3.) Three years ago I thought I was really busy and didn't know how to get it all done..... funny, eh?

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 1 No. 13
I know it's almost Friday, but I AM getting this in just under the wire. I'll blame my pregnant state...
3 Plans I've made with a open mind.... (meaning the baby may come and alter my plans!)
1.) We have tickets to see Narnia tomorrow 4:45 p.m (matinee is cheaper!) I only hope I'll be able to go. Two years ago the final Lord of the Rings movie opened in the theatres the same day I delivered BonusBoy. I didn't get to go. And although we have the 4 hour director's cut DVD, I still have not watched it!!!! Jim has threated to go to the Narnia movie anyway even if I have to go to the hospital I 'kindly' informed him that that wasn't going to happen! grrrrr!
2.) We have a Saturday birthday party to go to for a nephew of Jim's. I hope we can make that as well.
3.) The two big kids have their chimes and bells Christmas concert this coming Sunday afternoon. I hope I will be able to attend that as well. This will be Padawan's first performance ever and I'd hate to miss it. PonyGirl has been doing it for two years now but this is Padawan's first and I have yet to see him at work! PonyGirl reports that he's doing very well. She seems proud of him. (Warms my heart!)

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 1 No. 12
1.) I love the sound of a train going through town. I think I've always lived where I can hear the train at least from a distance. I only usually notice it when I'm in bed but it never disturbs my sleep. Whenever I hear it, I just smile and am thankful I am hearing it. I don't know why. I just do.
2.) I love the sound of an orchestra warming up. The dissonant sounds yielding the promise of good things to come. Makes me feel happy.
3.) I love the sound of a rip-roaring, crackling fire. Makes me feel warm even if it's not yet.

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 1 No. 11
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
1.) I refuse to decorate for Christmas or play Christmas music until AFTER Thanksgiving. I will, however, do Christmas shopping. Especially when I'm due to have a baby on Dec. 16th. I'd like to have the presents all gathered together BEFORE the baby comes!
2.) I prefer dark meat and tolerate white meat. Not so healthy, I know.
3.) I prefer the Thanksgiving leftovers to the original meal. Love to nibble!

Three Things Thursday ~ Vol. 1 No. 10
1.) For some reason I think it's kind of cool that I was born in the 60's (albeit just barely!).
2.) I'm older than my husband by 2½ years. (He was born in the 70's!)
3.) I had my first child at the same age that my mom had her last child (27).

2.) I graduated from high-school in a class of 7 students.
3.) I had the privilege of knowing all of my grandparents and even a great-grandpa.
