Oh, I LOVE that age...

As a reader of The Common Room, I am constantly coming across wonderful writings that inspire, humble, and/or convict me. I just read another of those that just speaks so well the thoughts of my heart. Here it is, enjoy:

Favorite (this links to the original post)

Last night a dear friend and I were talking on the phone, and she mentioned this post.

She is about older than me, and her children are grown. She told me how much she enjoyed that post, and then she said, "It's true, you know, that whatever stage mine were at, I could say, 'Oh, this is my favorite stage! I just love this age!' and it would just keep getting better and better. I always wondered how that could be possible, since I thought each age was just perfect and couldn't possibly be any better."

We pondered that one for a while. And then it occurred to me, "Maybe it's not the age. Maybe each stage and age will be your favorite when the children are your favorite people?"

Let me say that again: "Maybe each stage and age will be your favorite when the children are your favorite people?"

I think God made every stage of childhood cute and amazing to the parents for a reason. Wouldn't we get bored?
