Psalm 18 as a poem:
The LORD is my Rock and my fortress,
my refuge and my shield.
At the power of this Rock,
the cords of death do yield.
Death and evil faced me;
they were strong on every side.
So upward to my stronghold
for deliverance I cried.
His anger made the mountains shake;
the earth became afraid.
With darkness all around Him,
His way to me He made.
He thundered in the heavens
and with His voice He spoke.
All around, the lightning flashed
for His anger was provoked.
He took me from the hands
of my strongest enemy,
And took me far away from
all who hated me.
The reason for the rescue
at first I could not see.
But now I know it is because
He delights in me.
